Photo Quality Tips: How to Choose the Best Picture for Your Crystal

Photo Quality Tips: How to Choose the Best Picture for Your Crystal

Choosing the right photo is the first—and most important—step in creating a breathtaking 3D crystal keepsake. Here's how to make sure your picture becomes a stunning piece of art.

1. Focus on Clarity

Choose a photo that’s high-resolution and in focus. Blurry or pixelated images can result in a loss of detail during the engraving process.

2. Subject Should Be Well Lit

Avoid photos with harsh shadows, dim lighting, or strong back lighting. Natural light works best and brings out the details in faces and features.

3. Centered and Unobstructed Faces

Make sure the people or pets in the photo are clearly visible, facing forward, and not covered by hats, hair, or objects. This ensures accurate depth and proportion in the 3D engraving.

4. Use Original Files When Possible

Always upload the original image file (not a screenshot or social media download), as these tend to lose quality. Photos from your phone or camera work best when uploaded directly.

5. Keep Backgrounds Simple (Optional)

We remove the background when converting to 3D, but photos with minimal clutter or distractions tend to process faster and cleaner.

6. Cropping? Leave That to Us

Don't worry about cropping or editing-we’ll position the subject to best fit your chosen crystal shape and size.
